Following on from the huge success of 'Sloightly on th' Huh',
is Charlie's second book, 'A RUM OWD DEW!' Charlie's passion for his
native Suffolk, and for all regional dialects, means that this book is a natural progression for him. As the world changes, travel becomes easier, and the advent of technology means that communities are becoming global, the old dialects are dying out.
Of course, languages must evolve to survive. As Charlie points out in his foreword, it was the influx of furreners into the region which made the Suffolk dialect what it is, the Angles, the Saxons, the Danes, the Normans. all of these visitors to the Suffolk shores helped create the language that we hear today.
