A Pint of Adnam's Best...
'A pint of Adnam's best' is Charlie's second CD.
Recorded live at The Rumburgh Buck,
the CD shows Charlie doing what he does best,
entertaining the people of East Anglia (And abroad), with his own brand
of Suffolk humour, some of which is ribald and agricultural.
Generally, Charlie uses his own material, but occasionally pays tribute to other artists.
The CD includes Charlie's own "Suffolk Abroad", an original and hilarious monolgue, based on a visit his Uncle Charlie made to Spain. Also on the CD is 'The Darts Match', a traditional favourite, which is a tribute to Peter Coleman, a fellow East Anglian entertainer, who inspired and encouraged Charlie to add mardles and monologues to his repertoire. Thank you Peter.
'I Am Black', is Charlie's contribution to Black History Month, and a recognition of the multi-cultural nature of Suffolk. Charlie dedicates this mardle to the work of Ms Fran Limerick, and others for their work for equal rights.
The Poacher's revenge is an hilarious adaptation of Paul Roberts' "Erringdon Woods". After the end of the recording, Charlie was requested to sing, yes sing, the "Poacher's Revenge"! Charlie was unaware that the sound technician was still running and this wonderful example of Suffolk ribald humour was caught forevermore, and due to popular demand, Charlie had no option but to include it as a fitting climax to this hilarious CD.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed Charle's performance of these and all the other pieces on this wonderful recording. The Rumburgh Buck was an apt venue.
